About Me:
I am about 30 years old and have been using computers since I was 15. Presently I reside in North Carolina (USA), and have a Masters of Science in Computer Science. My current position is as a Logistics Supervisor, though my previous occupation was a Programmer and System Administrator at IBM. Prior to that I worked as a computer lab technical assistant at my University (I helped people use the lab computers and helped troubleshoot problems with the computers).
Presently I maintain or help maintain the following programs:
Key:
(ALPHA) indicates program is either not yet feature complete or has known issues (may not work except on my computer)
[D] real mode DOS program
[D32] protected mode DOS version available
[W] Win32 (
ReactOS, Windows 9x, Windows NT) version available
[L] Linux or other Posix/Unix OS version available
- FreeDOS Base Set:
- tree(approve sites) - Graphically displays the folder structure of a drive or path. [D,W]
- AtapiCDD(approve sites) - A CD-ROM device driver (ALPHA) [D]
- kernel - I am presently the Interim Maintainer, if you want to help then email me! [D]
- FreeCom - While I am not the maintainer, I am responsible for integrating new patches (written by myself or hopefully others) and new releases until a new maintainer is found or Steffen returns. For Win32 support, see ReactOS project, their cmd replacement was based on an earlier FreeCom release [D,W]
- FreeDOS distribution - though I no longer actively work on it, I maintained the Beta 7, Beta 8, and Ripcord variants. Currently I try to help Bernd.
- install - the text mode installer (fancy unzip to copy files from distribution packages to user's hard drive)
- Other programs:
- AbiWord(approve sites) - Word Processor [W,L] (I plan a DOS port, but haven't had the time. Generally I help with the Windows version.)
- Czar - Alternate syscall support on Windows NT (run native x86 Linux/FreeBSD binaries) (ALPHA) [W]
- pdFit(approve sites) - disk image library/utility (ALPHA) [D,W]
- NSIS(approve sites) - Windows Installer, I maintain various installer plugins; untgz, md5dll, pluginTester, curlDL [W]
- ISAPNP(approve sites) - configures ISA plug-n-play devices [D,D32,L] (I helped with the DOS real mode port and maintain the DOS build on my site.)
- misc patches - I try to help provide bugfixes and improvements for the various FreeDOS programs and other open source programs/libraries that I use.
- rawrite (and similar) software list [references for D,W,L]
